“Thank you so much for the wonderful welcome. Super cottage, wonderful gardens and beautiful scenery. So glad we chose Cornwall instead of Paris for our honeymoon.”
— C. & C. Glos.
Once a barn and now converted into a charming upside down self-catering holiday cottage with lots of woodwork, beams and deep window-sills.
The open plan living room/kitchen is reached by stone steps leading up to a stable door. A pale pine kitchen with pretty tiles is equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, a washer/dryer, microwave and ample crockery etc. The sitting/dining area has lovely views out over our garden and down the wooded valley that leads to the sea. There are comfortable furnishings and a wood-burning stove, which together with a T.V./DVD, ipod dock and CD/radio make it perfect for those evenings when you want to stay at home and unwind with a bottle of wine or simply to collapse in comfort after an energetic walk.
Downstairs there is a double bedroom (4’6” bed with king sized duvet – David always hogs the lot with anything smaller),a twin bedded room with hand-built old pine cabin beds and a smart bathroom with a shower above the bath, under floor heating, bright Agatha Ruiz tiles and ample space for your own bits and pieces. All the downstairs rooms overlook the enclosed private patio where you will find table and chairs and Firepit/BBQ for those warm summer evenings – fingers crossed!! There is also a small enclosed lawned area, known as The Mowhay across the drive.
There are electric panelled radiators throughout the cottage, which along with the stove make this a cosy winter retreat as well as a wonderful place to while away a week or two during the warmer months.
There are books, board games, toys and a selection of DVDs.
All electricity/heating is included in the price as are linen and towels although we do ask that you bring your own beach towels.
“A lovely cottage and a very warm welcome. Thanks for all the welcome goodies, a very thoughtful gesture. After 40 years of holidaying in Cornwall this was the best cottage we have stayed in.”
